The climate issue has been used badly by too many leaders. When something goes terribly awry, instead of lack of preparedness or planning, it's been all too convenient to blame things on climate change. As a long-time climate campaigner, I'm elated AFP was able to use iCSC's views on the flooding issue.

MANILA, Aug 19, 2010 (AFP) - Climate change may be playing a part in record rains ravaging Asia but environment experts say the destruction of ecosystems is more directly to blame for the severity of killer floods.
